"I wish I could help..."

If you have said these words to yourself - you can, whatever your age, whatever your skill, all we ask is a few hours of your time.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul  is open to all who wish to live their faith by loving and serving their neighbour. Volunteers also known as Vincentians meet in church parish groups called conferences and in district groups called particular or regional councils.

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of SSVP. We offer time and attention to our vulnerable clients and serve the poor with love, respect, justice and joy. Volunteers seek to develop their faith by living it in the service of those living in poverty.

As a volunteer you will be required to complete an application form, have a police record check, be interviewed, provide references and agree to accept the principles of our Society.  Our volunteers belong to parish-based conferences but are not required to be of the Catholic faith.

There are two levels of involvement: Full members who participate in meetings and activities of the Society. Auxiliary members take part in some activities but are not required to attend meetings and consequently cannot run for office.

If you share our Vincentian values and are willing and committed to contribute to your community, please contact us about volunteering!
